Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a part of the art of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and has been practised safely in humans and animals for wellness, pain management and treatment for a variety of chronic ailments.

Acupuncture involves stimulating the acupoints using very fine sterilised needles, which result in the release of “happy hormones” like beta-endorphins, serotonin and other neurotransmitters into the body. This stimulates the body’s natural healing abilities, improves blood circulation, nerve stimulation, provides pain relief and improves mental wellbeing.

TCM and Western medicine come from two vastly different schools of thoughts with different treatment philosophies. They each have their benefits and limitations. In our experience, TCM and Western medicine work well together and produce the best results when they are integrated and complement each other.

If you think your pet might benefit from acupuncture or if you are not sure but interested to find out more, feel free to book an appointment with your pet to consult with one of our Certified Veterinary Acupuncturists, Dr Soh Li Ming or Dr Joyce Lauw.
